Yet, out of this chaos, one sculpts the posture of ultimate equanimity.

DnCE

DanceNCommunity Ensemble is (DnCE) research into choreography within South Asian aesthetics under UNC Charlotte Department of Dance directed by Assistant Professor Kaustavi Sarkar. Formed in 2020, it involves dancers and choreographers from India (Guru Aruna Mohanty and Guru Poushali Mukherjee), the United States (Dr. Maya Chadda and Dr. Rohini Dandavate). The ensemble has a core body and hires professionals when needed. Dancers involved are professional soloists within classical Indian forms of Odissi and Bharatnatyam, Deepa Mahadevan, Urmila Bhaumik, Smaranika Jena, Monali NandyMazumdar, Setu Patel, Madhavi Rao, Shalini Basu, and Tanisha Mukherjee. Its upcoming productions are Tapa: Fervent Triggers and Sama: Equanimity and Equality. It has showcased work at UNC Charlotte Faculty Dance Concert, Erasing Borders Festival, and at numerous Indian diasporic venues.
